30 Days to a New You!

By Laura Kelly-Pifer

I must admit that I’m overwhelmed by the responses that came in via email to me on my blog post from earlier this week.  I knew in my heart that I had to do something and an idea was born.

What if I could give the gift of having an an accountability and support group like one in which I participate in.  Would it help others like it’s helped me?  Again, I already knew in my heart it would.

So, beginning Monday, July 21, 2014, I’ll be hosting a group for folks who want to be healthy and need a little accountability and it will last for 30 days!

Here is some of what you may want to know about prior to joining us.

You may have heard the term “clean eating.”  This is what I’m choosing to do 90% of the time.

For me, basically clean eating means eating foods that aren’t processed.  They are smaller, well balanced meals that I have 4 to 6 times per day.  I’ve also determined that when I stick to the top two tiers my “New You” Food guide that I see better results.

So what does that mean for me?  That means that I tend to eat lots of vegetables, whole grains, fruits and lean meats.  Do I “treat” myself with foods not on that list?  Yes but I limit it and try to choose wisely when I do.

Here’s 4 things that you’ll want to do so that you can start eating clean if you aren’t already.

  • Clean out the kitchen.  Take a look at nutrition labels.  If you can’t read it or don’t recognize it, don’t eat it.  Donate it or toss it.
  • Stock your own clean eating pantry with healthy foods.  Fresh and even frozen (just be sure to read the nutrition labels to make sure there aren’t any unnatural ingredients) both work.  This list is also my shopping list each week. (You’ll be given a Healthy Food Guide in our group.)
  • Prep ahead.  After you’ve done the shopping, go ahead and wash and chop your veggies or marinate/season your meats.  If you have things planned ahead of time, you won’t have an excuse.
  • Give yourself time to adjust.  Clean eating can take time.  Don’t let it overwhelm you.  It’s okay to easy into it! Learn to adjust to this because it is a life style change.

You might see some AWESOME changes just by changing what you eat.  I noticed that my fibro and arthritis flares became less frequent but eliminating processed foods.  It’s a pretty AMAZING feeling and I’m excited that I can share that with you!

We’ll also be aiming to exercise for at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week.  Anything goes!  Play with your little ones, swim, bike, walk, do a workout DVD, etc.  You can break it up into increments thru out the day and do it at the time that works best for you.  The key is to get some sort of physical activity in each day.  Our bodies CRAVE exercise and were built to do some remarkable things. You’ll find an activity you enjoy and then have FUN!

And the last thing that you’ll do is post what you’re doing each day in our private facebook group so we can cheer you on.

If you’re new to healthy eating, exercise, etc. please know that I’ll be there to share with you how to do so.  You’ll be directed to the tools to help you succeed.

Are you ready?  I am.  I’m excited for what’s in store for you. If you’re ready to join us, please email my team at clientcare@exercise2day.com so that we can get you added to the group before we begin.  Spots are limited to the first 20 people to enroll.

As I mentioned above, this in my gift to you.  There is no charge for this group.  The only thing I ask in return is that you give it your all and do your best. <3

If you have question, feel free to reach out and ask.  Let’s BRING it!

With Love,

Laura
