I mentioned yesterday on my Facebook Business Page that I couldn’t wait to share my latest blog post with you all. And, there is some reason as to why.
As you know from following this blog, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. There have been times over the last few weeks that getting up to walk has been extremely painful. I don’t know how to describe it other than walking on glass. Even little things like trying to play Battleship with my girls proved to be difficult too. There are days where being active is the hardest thing on my list of things to do. I HATE this feeling but I get up and get moving! It actually helps me feel better to do so. It just takes me longer than others to do so.
I’ve been on a variety of medications over the years and have not seen any results so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with a new specialist, who confirms that there is additional testing that needs to done to help treat the conditions that I have and to also determine what other autoimmune disorders I may/may not have. She feels that the Fibromyalgia was misdiagnosed.
After what seems like donating half my blood for lab work and orders for x rays, she feels confident that she can properly diagnosis me at my next followup. I am so thrilled to be working with someone who doesn’t want to just write me a prescription and see me on my way. This new Doctor took the time to analyze all previous blood work, surgeries, births, and all other medical history. It wasn’t one of those appointments where you spend waiting forever to see the Doctor to only get 5 minutes. It was a VERY inspiring appointment and one that’s going to be a life changer. I’m SO EXCITED about the possibility of getting my life back!!
