Learn to say No!
By Laura Kelly-Pifer
Happy Friday Friends!
Today I want to share something a special message with you.
Often, I’ll hear friends and family as well as my coaching clients tell me that finding time is one of the biggest culprits in reaching their goals. Is it the same for you? One question I’ll ask you is….Have you learned to say NO?
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed or guilty because there is so much that needs done or maybe you don’t want to upset someone. Trust me when I say that I know the feeling VERY well. As a mom, a wife, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a business owner, etc., I want to be and do what I can for others. Some days, all of my various roles co-mingle. Know the feeling?
I know that there are some of you out there that are struggling with saying No. I totally get that. But, I want you to know that saying “No” is not rude. It’s actually something that can create great peace in your life. When you’re able to focus on you and your needs, you can do a better job for others or you can commit to projects or ideas that will help you get to where you want to be. It’s about creating harmony and living the life that you want. It’s okay to say no.
Today, I want you to take 10 minutes for YOU. Take these 10 minutes and write down all that you do. Are you able to delegate some of those things to others? Are there some things that you’re doing now that are time suckers and energy zappers that bring you down? Is someone making you for guilty for not doing it? Just step back for a few minutes and evaluate what YOU feel comfortable with. After you’ve completed this, fill in the blank. Do I now have the time to _____? You might be surprised to find that you do.
I know that by doing this simple exercise that you too, can life the life that you want and reach the goals that you want to reach. I have to tell you that this is something that I’ve started to do daily. I’m now finding more time, more peace and less stress. It’s an AWESOME feeling to start living the life that you envision.
I’d be honored if you would comment and share with me what you will be doing with your extra time or where you need help if you are struggling.
Together we can!
