I don’t know about you but when I see a whole bunch of tomatoes at the end of summer, I think of one thing….SALSA!
Salsa is not only tasty but healthy too! We use it not only with chips, in our taco meat, over our taco meat but make casseroles, use as a garnish over scrambled eggs or omlets and a wide variety of other things.
When making salsa, you can make in bulk by canning as long as you have the right equipment.
I will tell you that there is nothing better than enjoying the fruits of your labor, especially during the winter when you’re craving summer. Your salsa will take like it was just made yesterday!
Lime and Black Pepper Salsa
6 large tomatoes, chopped
1/2 sweet onion, chopped
1/2 red onion, chopped
2 serrano peppers, diced small
1 jalapeño pepper, diced small
1 green pepper, diced small
3 drops doTERRA lime essential oil (or more to taste) *
1/2 drop (use a toothpick, dip into essential oil then stir into salsa) doTERRA black pepper essential oil (or more to taste)*
Gently toss ingredients.
Yep, it’s that EASY! If I can make this salsa, anyone can. One thing I will add that isn’t noted in the instructions is to use disposable gloves when cutting your peppers. There is nothing worse than touching your eye and it burning from the oils of your peppers, even hours later and having had washed your hands after cutting. It’s not a pleasant feeling. Trust me on that!
