New Life For Old Cookie Sheets
By Laura Kelly-Pifer
I’m all about making things quick and easy. As a busy mom, it has to be that way and standing at the sink, scrubbing cookie sheets can be pretty time consuming. A few weeks ago, I ran across a recipe for a “magic cleaner.” And, low and behold, after using a cookie sheet the other day, I decided to give it a try. The only thing I had to really do was wait. Thankfully, I didn’t have a need to use the sheet anytime soon, so it worked out perfectly to do this little experiment while I was away at work.
Here’s a “before” picture of one of my cookie sheets. As you can see, it’s fairly stained but usable.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Hydrogen Peroxide
Baking Soda
Time
You’ll want to mix the peroxide and baking soda until it forms a paste and then spread over the cookie sheet like so.
Next, you’ll want to set it aside and wait a few hours and allow the magic to happen. A few hours later, I returned and rinsed the cookie sheet. I did not “scrub” it, simply rinsed and rubbed it with my scrubber.
BOOM! It’s like a new cookie sheet. Now, I still need to clean up the edges but I was VERY happy with the results that I got. This was quick and easy and I will be trying it on my other cookie sheets as well. I feel that anyone can do this with minimal effort and bring new life for their old cookie sheets.
With Love,
Laura
