Young woman daydreaming

Working towards a goal, no matter the goal, can be quite the challenge sometimes.

I know for me, it can be and especially once I hit one of those plateaus that seems forever to bust thru.

During those difficult times is when I have to work the hardest on staying motivated.   My “why” in combination with this one technique helps me keeping going.

Here’s a technique you’ll use to reach your goal.

The technique of visualization is something that I was taught just a few years ago and I now share with others.  You’re going to envision yourself already at goal.   See yourself where you want to be.

You’ll want to sit back, close your eyes and inhale and exhale deeply.

Picture in your mind, you reaching your goal as vividly as possible.

Take some time and just concentrate on what you want, truly believing that it were already real.   Ask yourself  these two questions and really think about what the answers will be.

– What will my life look like when I reach my goal?

– How will I feel when I reach my goal?

Be as specific as possible.   The more real it seems, the more manageable and motivated you become.

The time that it takes to do this exercise is up to you.  Maybe it’s a few minutes or maybe more.

Please keep in mind that this exercise is to help you achieve realistic and achievable goals.  While I would love to win the lottery (and I’m sure you would too!) and be able to donate, share and live without worry, this isn’t gonna work for that goal.  Sorry but it just doesn’t work in that way.

Once you’ve completed this simple exercise, you’ll want to make sure too that you watch the words you speak over yourself.

For example, instead of saying “I hope _______” choose to say, “I am ______.”  Again, you’re already going through the motion of reaching said goal.

If you catch yourself slipping up, simply give yourself grace and keep moving forward. It’s a process of learning and growing.  Just be patient and trust the process.

I hope that you find this exercise to benefit you next time you’ve reached a plateau or just felt stuck.  I like to compare it to daydreaming…just like when we were kids.  Sitting there, imagining how life would be like once we were all grown up.

The mind is a powerful thing.  When you BELIEVE in your goals, your dreams than you’ll ACHIEVE them.  Everything we want is within reach.

As always, I’m here to help you meet your goals. Reach out to me if I can help in anyway.

With Love,

Laura
